SKILLS SESSION LES GETS 04

The Portes Du Soleil is a four month gift to mountainbikers. Free of the ubiquitous narrow closeness of the coniferous plantations of Britain, although they’ll tell you it’s woodland, the resorts of Les gets, Chatel, Morzine and Morgins on the Swiss – French border mountains provide riders with a summer groundsheet of the roughest, smoothest, longest, manmade, natural and most technical and downright local riding there is to be found in the World.

Craig from Ride-On

Inspired by all that’s on offer Dirt Magazines Steven Jones and Ride-on’s Craig Robertson (now into his fourth year camped in the hills) are to hold two day skills sessions aiming to step up the standard of the incoming holidayers before they head back into the heavy traffic of British woods in winter.

The dates on offer are the 26/27 August and 1/2 September

It’s FREE to those who sign up and the places as you’d imagine are limited. Base will be the Boomerang Hotel in Les Gets, home of the Australian and British downhill teams this summer.

So what will be included?

Well apart from getting inside knowledge of the best places to ride in the area those who sign up will be getting two days worth of training. (But you cannot sign up for both camps and accommodation is not included). Dirt’s senior contributor and Ride-On’s boss will be including skills training, bike conditioning, body prep, rider video/photo coverage, timed runs, barbecues and beer (but it’ll be your round if you come). Some of the top World Cup racers will also be out riding with the groups on skills training and the Ride-On service centre at Boomerang 1 will be used for the bike workshops.

With Craig’s unsurpassed bike set up and Jones knowledge of some of the ways of the worlds best riders this is an ideal chance to develop your downhill and freeride skills.

For more information/contact/sign up call Steven Jones 07771 808780 or his email is mudandrock@aol.com

....but it’ll be your round if you come
